Digital twins transforming industrial sites: Our investment in Samp

The industrial technology market is undergoing a seismic shift, driven by advancements in spatial computing, AI, and digital twin technologies. These innovations are not just enhancing how industrial operations are managed – they are fundamentally redefining the landscape, bringing new levels of efficiency, accuracy, and safety to industrial sites.

Today we are excited to announce our investment in Samp, the company that is uniquely positioned at the forefront of this transformation. Samp provides a platform that seamlessly integrates real-time data to create highly accurate digital twins of complex industrial sites. The platform enables companies to optimize their operations, reduce downtime, and mitigate risks.

We are pleased to invest alongside Promus Ventures and existing investors Innovacom, HTGF, and Engie Ventures, who share our enthusiasm for Samp. We are especially excited to partner with founders Laurent Bourgouin and Shivani Shah, along with the entire Samp team, and witness firsthand the rise of a new era in the 4.0 industrial revolution, powered by Samp.

This investment marks the second of its kind for Kvanted, further strengthening its foothold in the spatial computing space. In early 2024, Kvanted invested in the Danish extended reality company SynergyXR, which offers a no-code AR/VR platform for industrial customers, enabling seamless onboarding and training in virtual and augmented reality.

With the increasing complexity of industrial operations, the demand for advanced tools that provide real-time insights and predictive analytics is surging in the industrial sector. The founders of Samp, Laurent and Shivani, are set out to address this need with their platform that goes beyond mere visualization, enabling businesses to make data-driven decisions that enhance operational efficiency and safety.

The differentiating factor for Samp is in its patented AI and 3D streaming technology that goes beyond traditional CAD systems, allowing for fast and constant 3D modelling and contextualization of technical data of the equipment to be maintained or repaired. The company’s impressive early traction with industry leaders like Engie and Suez, combined with its scalable and adaptable business model, is convincing.

The Samp team brings together industry veterans from Dassault Systèmes, and Bosch, with a deep understanding of 3D modeling, software engineering, and the specific challenges faced by industrial operators. The team’s track record in successfully developing and scaling advanced industrial solutions, combined with their innovative approach puts the company in a good position to become a dominant force in the industrial technology sector, driving the next wave of innovation and growth.
