QMill
QMill is a Finnish quantum algorithm company focused on making quantum computing practical and accessible in the near-term future, thereby redefining what’s possible with quantum technology. QMill addresses near-term quantum hardware, specifically Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices, and their mission is bold: to be the first to unlock the potential of quantum advantage. This will enable businesses in sectors including energy, supply chain logistics, finance and real estate to solve their most complex optimization challenges with unmatched speed and efficiency.
QMill’s team is exceptional in combining world-leading quantum research with experience in scaling technologies and driving innovation in both academia and industry. QMill is the creation of Mikko Möttönen, co-founder of IQM and professor of Quantum Technology at Aalto University and VTT; Hannu Kauppinen, former CTO of Nokia Technologies; Ville Kotovirta, former head of VTT’s Quantum Algorithms & Software Team; and Toni Annala, an L.E. Dickson Instructor at the University of Chicago. With its complementary skill set, the team is well-positioned to not only develop scientific breakthroughs in quantum computing but also to commercialize these innovations, turning theoretical advancements into practical, high-impact applications.
